Quite dramatic tropical looking plant, its large & luxuriant, serrated, blue-grey leaves have a very distinct Peanutbuttery scent The tall, upright, brown flower spikes arch above the leaves in Late Autumn -Winter

A South African native, can grow to 8ft 2.5m tall or you can cut the stems back in early Spring before new growth begins to keep it much smaller.

Melianthus major is evergreen, and fairly hardy, though in a harsh Winter may mean covering the plant in fleece, Popular for flower arrangements
